It’s an added bonus when a labor of love is recognized
by our peers. That’s what happened in Chicago on May 24,
2004, when the Publicity Club of Chicago honored Procter & Gamble
and 3D Communications with one of its renowned Golden Trumpet Awards
for a video on PuR, a water purification technology for the developing
world.
The eight-minute video, shot in Guatemala, was
produced by Cindy DiBiasi of 3D Communications. It depicts the
plight of people in
the developing world who are drinking contaminated water, and highlights
P&G’s new water purification technology.
“The judges voted 3D’s video a winner because
it is an excellent example of a communications tool that touched
the
hearts and minds of viewers, buttressed the brand and publicized
P&G’s state-of-the-science technology.” said Susan
Prather, APR, principal, PratherPR and chairman of the Golden Trumpet
judges.
3D Communications also produced a video news release
focusing on the use of P&G's technology in Guatemala,
for PuR’s
international launch in London. This fall, 3D will produce another
corporate video on PuR, in Haiti.
“The videos are amazing tools that help us bring this compelling
story to life and get it in front of decision-makers and reporters
around the world,” said Greg Allgood, associate director,
Corporate Sustainable Development at Procter & Gamble.
